Ingredients

  • 2 oz gin
  • 2 oz strawberry simple syrup
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 4 oz tonic water
Strawberry Simple Syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, sliced

Equipment

  • a glass

Method

  1. In a small saucepan, combine water, granulated sugar, and sliced strawberries. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar has completely dissolved.
  2. Allow the mixture to simmer for a few minutes so the strawberries infuse their flavor. Remove from heat and strain to remove the fruit pieces.
  3. Fill a glass with ice. Add gin, strawberry simple syrup, and lime juice.
  4. Top with tonic water. Stir gently to combine all the flavors.
  5. Garnish with a strawberry or a lime wedge if desired.

Notes

To make a large pitcher, combine the following:
  • 8oz gin
  • 8oz strawberry syrup
  • 4 oz lime juice, to taste
Have 16 oz of tonic water prepared to top each glass with 4 oz each.
Store any extra strawberry simple syrup in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to a week. (Can potentially last up to three weeks - but flavor is best within a week.)
